Naam Shabana earns Rs. 5.12 crores on opening day

Saibal Chatterjee reviewed Naam Shabana for NDTV and wrote: "Taapsee's phlegmatic action heroine act, which is helped along by a value-enhancing cameo by a swaggering Akshay Kumar, gives the film its occasional high points".
Meanwhile, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the total number of screens the film has got in India. Involvement of these legendary stars of Indian film industry in this movie has benefited the filmmakers in the form of expected monetary profit through the box office collection. Evening shows fare better. The movie was expected to release in 1400 theaters across the country but it was released in 2100 theaters! Critics have lauded the actress' performance in the film, however, the overall ratings are not positive on a majority.
Poster of Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's latest movie "Naam Shabana" hit the silver screen. The film registered 15-20% occupancy on Friday and might earn somewhere around Rs 4-6 crore.
The film has been released across 37 countries, including non-traditional markets, on 354 screens in overseas.
In the U.S., the movie will release in 82 screens; in UAE, it will be shown on 43 screens; followed by 28 screens in Britain and 21 screens in Australia.
Naam Shabana, which is a spin-off of Akshay Kumar's Baby, released in theatres on 31 March, 2017, and thus far, it has witnessed a slow start at the box office. It was the audience's interest in her character that sparked off the inception of the prequel.
