Storms never fired around the Springfield area with most of last nights severe weather staying east of highway 65.

Saturday kicks off on a cloudy and cool note along with a little morning drizzle. Sunday will be partly to mostly sunny and comfortable with highs in the low 60s. Monday night, showers. Low around 54. The end of March and start of April look to bring an active weather pattern (rain every few days) with seasonable high temperatures. Lows will fall to the low to mid 50s, with a south wind settling-in overnight.

More rain chances return to the forecast Monday and Tuesday with another round possible mid-late week.

Tuesday, there is a 50 percent chance of showers, with a high near 63, the weather service said. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 48. Low around 44. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Temperatures respond to the sunshine rising into the upper 50s.

Cloudy skies will follow into tonight, along with rain likely after midnight.
