Add Luke Maye's name to the list of March Madness heroes

"God, I love my brothers man". "We've been in foul trouble before". "It's not something that you start dreaming it the year you win 25 games". Carolina was up nine a couple of times in the first half. "I'm just sad it didn't come in a winning effort".

The play that head coach John Calipari chose to run, though, had an eery similarity to the arguably the toughest moment of Calipari's career.

"We want to win a national championship", Berry said.

Foul trouble hindered United Kingdom, which never led in the first half. Fox, Monk and Adebayo each picked up two fouls each in the first half. He scored 16 against Bulter on Friday and then 17 Sunday.

On the first, Fox tried to take a charge against White and was called for blocking. Kentucky climbed into a tie with North Carolina with just over 3 seconds remaining. Fox didn't score his first basket of the second half until almost nine minutes passed. "I don't have words for how I felt". "I thought I beat him there". Carolina is the one with the ball in the air this time, the beauty of the tournament and the cruelty of it in the air along with it in Memphis. "But he called it (a foul)".

Pinson brought the ball up the court _ eight seconds left, seven, six. And then to get up, and then us come back and tie the game, and then they make one at the buzzer? "Somebody said you played with a group you never played before". "And you've got to beat who's out there". Derek Willis didn't cover him until it was too late. North Carolina at 8:49 p.m.

The Tar Heels out-rebounded Kentucky 44-34.

Williams couldn't offer a scholarship until Maye's second season.

The Oregon Ducks escaped out of the Midwest region, defeating Iona, Rhode Island and MI before downing Kansas by a final score of 74-60, giving the Ducks a final four berth for the first time since 1939. UNC has had 20 or more second-chance points in 16 games. The Tar Heels led 38-33 at halftime and still needed a 12-0 run to take control.

Isaac Humphries and De'Aaron Fox made the All-South Region team.

Justin Jackson scored 19 points for the Tar Heels, Maye had a career-high 17 off the bench and Joel Berry II added 11 on a sprained left ankle.

But after winning the Most Outstanding Player of the South Regional over some of the biggest stars in the country on UNC and Kentucky, the future for Maye as a player looks bright. Surely UK fans remember one of the other three. Scottie Reynolds of Villanova made a game-winner against Pittsburgh in 2009.

And Oregon? Well, the Ducks have been to the tournament before and won it all. Next season won't get here soon enough for fans.

Carolina reached the Elite Eight for the 27th time.

In terms of Final Four appearances this century, United Kingdom and Florida remained tied with Kansas and Duke with four. Problem is, there was seemingly always a bigger team from a bigger conference standing in the way of that program - from a campus of 7,400 in Spokane, Washington - taking the final step. OR and Gonzaga won in the Elite Eight on Saturday.

Kentucky guard Malik Monk is interviewed in the locker room after Kentucky lost to North Carolina 75-73 in the South Regional final game in the NCAA college basketball tournament Sunday, March 26, 2017, in Memphis, Tenn.
