Why always me? Ozil claims he's the Arsenal scapegoat

Chelsea have indeed been linked to Alexis Sanchez in the past few days, but perhaps the player was just saying "London" because that's where Arsenal are anyway.

Speaking to Chilean media while on worldwide duty, and quoted in Publimetro, he said: "I am happy in London and hope to finish my contract there".

Alexis Sanchez of Arsenal celebrates after scoring his team's third goal during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Arsenal at London Stadium on December 3, 2016 in London, England.

"I want to stay in a winning team and keep playing in the same city".

The 28-year-old will have only a year left on his Arsenal contract at the end of the season.

"That I am a World Cup victor, played for Real Madrid, set up 20 goals last season [in all competitions]".

Mesut Ozil has told Arsenal fans that he still "loves" the north London club and warned not to believe the speculation about his future in the media.

"He wants to win the Champions League, I can understand completely what he says". I hope that he will stay at the club but overall I think you have as well to be very cautious when people give interviews in their home countries.

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal will be without the services of Petr Cech and Lucas Perez for Sunday's clash against Manchester City.

Talks with both players have been shelved until the summer.

Sanchez has 15 months to the expiration of his contract at the Emirates and is yet to extend his stay beyond the summer of 2018 despite prolonged negotiations.

Although he added: "You know what made me proud?"

He also went on to say that he was keen to play on a winning football team, which might have been a hint as to his ambitions and perhaps a lack thereof, of Arsenal's. Do I stay two more years? "So much that I think it [trying to sign Neymar] is like trying to break into a safe, impossible".
