Uber Now Lets You Edit Your Pickup Location After Requesting a Ride

When a rider has confirmed the pickup address change, the Uber driver will receive a notification with the updated address. The move is part of an ongoing effort to avoid the "frustrating situation where riders aren't riding and drivers aren't earning".
The pick-up location, of course, is the place where the Uber driver will arrive to pick up the rider who ordered the auto. Now we're enabling riders on iOS in the US, Canada and the United Kingdom to update their pickup location if they happened to request from the wrong place. With the new addition, riders who accidentally enter a wrong pickup location can tap "edit" next to it, enter the new address, confirm it, and send it to the driver, who is updated on-the-fly about the new location.
In most of these cases, Uber has previously sided with riders nearly exclusively, trusting their claims without much regard for the driver's side of the story. After trialling the new version in a few cities, from today it'll be part of the iOS app in the UK, US and Canada, with Android to follow in the next few weeks. And finally, when riders cancel their trip mid-ride, drivers can challenge being short-changed on fair, and get compensated for the full trip in cases where they continue on to finish the ride regardless.
'Going forward someone with three rider complaints but just 100 trips under their belt will be treated very differently than a driver who has received three complaints but completed 10,000 trips, ' shared Uber.
Uber has updated its app to fix one major problem that that has left many riders frustrated.
Riders aren't the only ones getting some love today-Uber also announced some new driver support policies in response to feedback from its workforce.
'Instead of a one-size-fits all approach, this policy will take the entirety of a driver's time using Uber into account'. Uber will use facial recognition tech like Real Time ID to validate that a driver's identity if a rider claims the person behind the wheel doesn't match the picture on their app to settle claims more quickly.
Once a rider updates their pickup location, drivers will be notified of the new location and have their route updated (experience will vary for in-app and out-of-app navigation).
We will now give drivers a say in fare adjustments.
