SC has lived up to the hype thus far on the season by making it to the Final Four.
Florida Gators guard Chris Chiozza (11) celebrates after making the game winning shot against the Wisconsin Badgers in the semifinals of the East Regional of the 2017 NCAA Tournament at Madison Square Garden.
Starting with South Car- olina, this year's Cinderella team lead by SEC player of the year, Sindarius thornwell and former Kansas State head coach Frank Martin, is a team loaded with veteran leader- ship and savvy defense.
"I didn't know much about the SC program, but there was something about the way the Gamecocks played the game", Davis said. Five different Gamecocks have led the team in scoring at least once, six in rebounding and nine in assists.
Monday's Championship will be a Carolina border war.
The Gamecocks' next opponent is Gonzaga, which plays defense as well as anybody in the tournament. In Oregon's side, this would be their second presence in a Final Four since 1939, where they also earned their first and only national title. Why can't the Gamecocks continue one of the sport's greatest NCAA tournament runs - and finish it off with the program's first national championship? Once the teams are set, we will have a breakdown of the National Championship matchup for you as well.
The Ducks will also have a challenge against the UNC's junior forward Justin Jackson. While Gonzaga is a heavy favorite, we are pulling for SC and another incredible upset! Carolina's rebounding and inside presence will be too powerful in the end and we'll see a score of Gonzaga 61 - North Carolina 66.
"I'm not one of those guys that believes in pressure when you're playing the game", he said. North Carolina's defeat of Kentucky allows them to reap the benefit of a Final Four sales boost, as a Wildcat victory surely would have increased already top sales numbers even further.
Prediction: Oregon has solid guard play that can make this a tight game throughout, especially with a banged up Joel Berry II for the Tar Heels. I'm still stunned over the beat down they put on Kansas.
HOW THEY'VE CHANGED: "I think they've got their feet under them". Freshmen don't appear to have a heck of a lot to do with how things will play out in Glendale, Arizona.
Roy Williams and the Tar Heels are more familiar with this stage, and that very well may be the difference.
Luke Maye, North Carolina. Despite being highly ranked several times, the school has only reached the final eight teams three times, and 2017 is the first time that Gonzaga has reached the Final Four.
Williams-Goss, Williams (a transfer from Missouri) and Cal transfer guard Jordan Mathews have helped transform Gonzaga (36-1) into a more unsafe, more athletic team.
NCAA President Mark Emmert says the governing body of college sports needs to review North Carolina's move to roll back its "bathroom bill" that limited protections for LGBT people.
