Prep phenom Porter Jr. eager to team up with dad at Missouri

Michael Porter Jr. was named the Gatorade Player of the Year and the Naismith Prep Player of the Year after averaging 36.2 points, 13.6 rebounds, 5 assists, 3.2 steals and 2.7 blocks per game.

Only four other players have ever won all three awards in the same season: Dwight Howard in 2004, LeBron James in 2003, Chris Webber in 1991 and Alonzo Mourning in 1988. He went for 17 points (7-of-10 shooting), five rebounds and four blocks in 21 minutes. Now, there could be more, but if Porter Jr is able to land at least one of these players, the Tigers are easily a tournament team next year.

"I didn't know anything about the program at Washington other than coach Romar and my dad was going to be the assistant coach so after they got let go that probably wasn't gonna happen".

Despite starting slowly, Porter led all players with 12 points and seven rebounds at halftime. " ... Seeing all those dudes there to see you play, it was awesome, because they're on the level that I want to get to". The 6-1 Boothe has signed with Texas.

Young defended the inbounds with Porter under the basket, making things hard on Mohamed Bamba under the basket. "You know we were talking mess", Brown said.

Young finished with nine points, making a trio of 3-pointers.

Knox's brightest highlight came in the closing seconds of the first half when he slammed home an underhand lob from Alabama-bound point guard Collin Sexton, who wrapped the ball around his midsection before the pass.

"There was a smile on my face the whole time", Knox said. "A lot of all-star games guys just run up and down the court, but we were competing".
