Pistons' Caldwell-Pope arrested on suspected DUI

Police said Caldwell-Pope, 24, was pulled over at 2:50 a.m. on Auburn Road near Squirrel Road in Auburn Hills, driving 45 miles per hour in a 25-mph zone.

Local news station WXYZ in Detroit reported that Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was arrested early Thursday morning at 2:50 a.m. for suspicion of driving while under the influence. The Pistons said they were aware of the incident. A sobriety test revealed his blood-alcohol level was.08, which led to his arrest.

They added that Pope was cooperative throughout this process.

The report notes that Caldwell-Pope was "very cooperative" and was cited for DUI after a blood-alcohol test registered him at 0.08, which is the legal limit in MI.

Pope was issued an appearance ticket for operating while intoxicated. The arrest came after the Pistons' one-point loss to the Heat at home on Tuesday night.

No word yet on a court date for Caldwell-Pope, who is a restricted free agent at season's end.

Caldwell-Pope scored 12 points in 37 minutes Thursday and is averaging 14.1 points in 71 games this season.
