Google Home - the company's competitor to the Amazon Echo - started spouting adverts for Disney's new live-action film Beauty and the Beast yesterday.
Disney's animated classic takes on a new form, with a widened mythology and an all-star cast. Today, they introduce their first openly gay character in the remake of Beauty and the Beast.
So, what did you think of Beauty and the Beast?
Disney's live-action unit, led by Sean Bailey, built on the success in 2014 with Maleficent, a darker take on Sleeping Beauty, featuring Angelina Jolie. The film has already broken a Fandango record for advanced ticket sales of family films. The remake, now on its regular screening in city theaters, is directed by Oscar victor Bill Condon. Having said that, this flick is about 80 percent the same as the animated movie, so even if you don't love all the differences from the original B&B, you can still enjoy everything they kept the same. They've now seen the film and it's a pretty magical experience.
"I believe if these countries had ordered Disney to cut the scene, the company would obey as it would not want to forego the huge income from ticket sales", said Nur Jazlan.
The point is, while it is great that these films are being remade and being exposed to new audiences, it is also important that they continue to grow with the changing times.
Those films will also help Disney battle superhero fatigue in its Marvel division, which "everyone's expecting", says Michael Nathanson, an analyst at MoffettNathanson. And as well as revealing lots of behind-the-scenes gossip about Beauty And The Beast, Watson compared Hermione to Belle and the similarities are astounding.
