Apple MacOS 10.12.4 and TvOS 10.2 Officially Released

According to MacRumors, Night Shift is compatible with 2012 and newer Macs, so it won't work on older machines.

For more Apple macOS updates, visit the official Apple Mac site. Mac owners can also set timers so that Night Shift comes on at specific times every day, gradually reducing the amount of blue light over the course of the evening.

With this new information in mind, are you dropping f.lux in favor of Night Shift? The Night Shift gives the option to automatically reduce cooler, bluish tones and add warmer yellow tones to the images on the device screen after night falls in the user's locale.

Last, but not least, Night Shift also lets you use a slider to set how warm you want the colors to be.

Night Shift can be toggled On or Off by accessing the Apple display settings. In selecting Custom, one will have to encode the specific start and end time for Night Shift. The app should grab a refreshed list of available updates, and then you can simply click on "Update All" to kick them off. Note that the update will require a reboot, and the entire process takes a few minutes, so make sure you have sufficient time to complete it.

However, the Night Shift controls are a little buried and may be hard to find.

From the Schedule option, choose either Sunset to Sunrise or Custom. "In the morning, your display returns to its regular settings".

If you have multiple displays, Night Shift works only on the display that you use as your primary display.

Improves right-to-left language support for the Touch Bar, toolbar, and visual tab picker in Safari.

Maybe you want a little bit of blue light (you always did like living on the edge), but still want to get the alleged benefits of that sweet warm color spectrum.

There is also an option to adjust the color temperature of your Night Shift mode.
