The two schools are only a three hour drive away from each other, so the game would be a big rivalry.
This is nothing new for the Tar Heels and Hall of Fame coach Roy Williams, who is in his fifth Final Four with UNC and ninth overall dating to his time with Kansas.
Only one team has won the men's and women's championships in the same season-UConn in 2014.
These prices are far outpacing ticket prices for the last three Final Fours.
Darius Rucker shed happy tears Sunday afternoon (March 26) when the University of South Carolina Gamecocks - Rucker's alma mater- upset the No. 4 seeded Florida Gators in the NCAA Tournament at Madison Square Garden. So let's get to know these newbies.
The Tar Heels will face a team in the Oregon Ducks who haven't been to the Final Four since 1939. The 2015 Final Four held the previous high in ticket prices where the average price was $1,023. OR will keep it close and competitive, but North Carolina will put them away with a 4.5-point spread, if the prediction by OddShark via Bleacher Report turns out to be accurate.
South Carolina's passion looks to be on full display come April 1 when the Gamecocks take on Gonzaga for a trip to the national championship.
Gonzaga went on to destroy No. 11 seed Xavier, 83-59, and cement their place in this year's Final Four.
Gonzaga, which has a long track record of tournament success, won't be intimidated, coach Mark Few said.
"I think I did a heck of a job today", said Bell in a live televised interview immediately after the win. "We want to try and help our players as much as possible and make them as comfortable as possible". "They've just been unbelievably consistent". Before ending up at South Carolina, Martin worked as a change boy at a pool hall, a restaurant dishwasher, bus boy, did some work in landscaping, sold newspapers, and was even a bouncer while getting a degree from Florida International so he could break into varsity basketball, according to CBS Sports. The team has made it to the NCAA Tournament for six straight years under the watch of head coach Dawn Staley, and it's been a No. 1 seed for the past four. "I'm never making her cry again for making the wrong choice", Martin said. "We're still going into that game thinking we can win. You dream it every single day".
South Carolina: Wilson got her fourth foul with 5:16 left and stayed in the game.
MCEVERS: Right. Like we said, it's not a surprise that the women are in the Final Four.
