Kasper Schmeichel was absolutely sensational in both legs against Sevilla, and all throughout Leicester's Champions' League campaign for that matter, and he'll certainly have to remain at his best against whoever Leicester draw for the quarter-finals.
The Italians never looked like relinquishing its 2-0 lead from the first-leg of the last 16 tie in Portugal despite allowing the visitor plenty of possession in the first half.
GRAEME SOUNESS WATCHED Leicester City's dramatic win over Sevilla last night in Ballymount as part of TV3′s Champions League coverage.
Paulo Dybala converted a penalty as Juventus beat 10-man Porto 1-0 on Tuesday to complete a 3-0 aggregate victory and reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has already stated he would prefer to avoid the Foxes and Zidane is also wary of the threat they pose. "Leicester, because they are a risky and passionate team who can cause trouble for opponents who take the initiative", said Buffon after his team beat Porto 1-0 to compete a 3-0 aggregate win. "He was anxious that they'd let me go if he saw the shape I was in". Now that they look like the title winners from past year again, isn't anything possible, especially if Jamie Vardy can start bagging goals again?
However, in the 27th minute, Leicester opened the scoring when Riyad Mahrez's free kick from the left found Morgan, who was able to bundle the ball into the net from six yards out to put Leicester in front in the tie on away goals.
"With 10 men, we still forced Leicester back to their goal, we were all over them in the second half and created risky situations, but it was hard because they were playing at home".
Sevilla, who have won the Europa League in each of the past three seasons, were unable to handle the intensity of Leicester's play and lost their discipline in the second half.
"We had a chance to equalise but we didn't take it and we paid the price", Sevilla skipper Vicente Iborra said.
Now Leicester could face holders Real Madrid, Barcelona or Juventus in the last eight.
"When you win games your confidence grows and the way we played against Sevilla will hopefully boost us going into the next Premier League game". "Football is often decided on the smallest details and in that aspect we were the worse team". "When we needed Kasper the most, he came up trumps".
The Leicester of last season, defined by resolute defending and a lightning quick counterattack, seems to have returned in full flow, and now Leicester fans are dreaming of another fairy tale in Europe while slowly forgetting about their potential relegation nightmare. But we have some games where we need to kick on [in the league] and then we can enjoy the quarter-finals.
