In keeping with the BJP's manifesto, Adityanath directed police officials to prepare an action plan for closure of slaughter houses across the state.
Sources said the party will put the administrative experience of another Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma, who has worked as Lucknow mayor, to good use.
The newly appointed Chief Minister also met Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and discussed various projects related to urban development in the state.
Cautioning that this was not his last inspection but only a beginning, he exuded confidence that an improvement will be seen at all levels.
Adityanath was sworn in as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday after the Bharatiya Janata Party was swept to power in the state.
Most of these suspensions were in Ghaziabad, Meerut and Noida. The crackdown followed directives issued by DGP Javeed Ahmed a few days ago to identify the "black sheep" among the policemen.
On his first visit to the secretariat annexe building here, the chief minister gave a piece of his mind to officials there asking them to stop chewing pan and pan masala when on duty.
A day after UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasised on cleanliness, his cabinet colleague Upendra Tewari on Thursday picked up a broom to clean his office in the state legislature in Lucknow, pictures of which went viral on social media.
Without mincing words, the Chief Minister had also yesterday directed officials to maintain punctuality and hygiene.
