'Sing Street' Star Ian Kenny Joins Han Solo Movie

Nonetheless, Iger's statement reveals that the character will have his own movie where it is a prequel and that the "Star Wars: Han Solo" spinoff film, will explore his life during 18 and 24 years of age. The film set in a galaxy far, far away stars Alden Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures, Hail, Caesar!) in the role of everyone's favorite space smuggler and scoundrel.

Ian Kenny is perhaps best known for the hit musical Sing Street, where he played the film's bully and all-round tough cookie, Barry.

Besides Sing Street, Kenny can also be seen in the British TV series Fair City.

Two "Star wars" films have been released since Disney bought Lucasfilm - "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story".

Alden Ehrenreich, who will play Han Solo, attends a Star Wars event in London in July past year. The character went on to be cast back in Star Wars Episode 7 but apparently, that would mark his end for the continuing saga. And we've even got some idea of what the whole thing is going to be about.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, reveals that the Han Solo film is official and will be upcoming. The film will include "acquiring a certain vehicle and meeting a certain Wookie", he said.

The original stars: Billy Dee Williams and Harrison Ford as Lando Clarissian and Han Solo.

Production is underway with Christopher Miller and Phil Lord directing from a script by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan.

The yet-to-be-titled Han Solo spin-off is slated to arrive May 25, 2018.
