President Trump Hits the Golf Course For the 13th Time

As several news outlets have subsequently pointed out, Trump spent much of the weekend at Trump National Golf Club in Virginia.

It is the president's eighth weekend in a row making a trip to a Trump-owned property. But media reports and photographs compiled by the political site Think Progress confirmed that Trump golfed on Saturday and then likely again on Sunday at the Trump-branded course about 30 miles from the White House. The White House would not confirm whether the president had played a round of golf.

Needless to say, the social media reaction was swift against Fox News, whose commentators have staunchly defended Trump and his White House.

Also odd was President Trump's tweet Saturday night to his supporters to watch Judge Jeanine Pirro's show. "White House officials have said Mr. Trump goes to his clubs and restaurants because he is comfortable there, but critics increasingly argue that the visits are priceless advertising and that Mr. Trump and his family are using the presidency as a way to enrich themselves".

At another MI rally in August, Trump returned to this theme. Trump left after four-and-a-half hours at the club, basically long enough to play a round of golf.

Golfweek notes that Trump-who repeatedly criticized then-President Obama for golfing and said that he would be too busy to golf when president-has now visited golf courses 13 times since January 20.

TIME notes this is Trump's thirteenth golf trip during his nine weeks in office. Trump was said the prior weekend to be having weekend meetings at his Mar-a-Lago Club, which he did.

US government watchdog has agreed to review how classified information is kept secure at President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, the agency said on Monday, after Democratic lawmakers raised concerns about the issue last month.

The President wrote multiple tweets accusing Barack Obama of slacking off work to play golf.
