Panasonic launch the Eluga Ray X and Max

As mentioned earlier, the smartphone is priced at Rs. 8,999, and it comes in only one variant i.e. 32GB, and yes, it also comes with the new Arbo Digital Assistant.

Arbo is developed in-house by Panasonic and is the company's first foray into the world of artificial intelligence. Both smartphones will be available exclusively through Flipkart. This gathers all the detailed information of the habits of the users and informs them about it accordingly. The AI powered assistant takes care of all the daily tasks and activities like calls and messages that need to be framed and sent out on a regular basis. According to the company, Arbo is derived from Esperanto and it means "a framework that supports climbing plants". Panasonic says Arbo's machine learning capabilities allow it to make smart suggestions to the user, based on previous user behavioral patterns.

The dual-SIM smartphone comes runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and sports a 5.2-inch FHD IPS display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top.

For photography, the smartphone is equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash.

The Eluga Ray Max and Eluga Ray X runs on an Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) platform, featuring a metal unibody along with USB 2.0 with OTG support, Ambient Light sensor, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor and houses a battery capacity of 3000mAh with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and 4000mAh respectively. It also bears a fingerprint sensor built in the home button. This phone has dimensions of 148 x 73 x 9.5mm and its weight is 165g. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and Global Positioning System.

Eluga Ray Max also gets Gorilla Glass 3 protection, whereas Panasonic hasn't mentioned anything about the screen protection for the Eluga Ray X. Powered by the 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 64-bit octa-core SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM it comes in two inbuilt storage options- 32 GB and 64 GB which can be further expanded by up to 128 GB using a microSD card. The phone has a 13-megapixel primary camera and the front camera is an 8-megapixel shooter with LED flash.

The Eluga Ray X comes with a 13MP camera at the rear and also has a 5MP front-facing snapper for selfies and video calls. It weighs 193 grams and measures 153.4x77x10.5mm. The smartphone will come in Gold, Metallic Silver, and Rose Gold colour variants.
