Nissan Terrano Facelift Launched; Prices Start At ₹ 9.99 Lakh

Nissan says that it has added 22 new features to spark a new life into its only SUV now on sale in the country. Highlights include a tweaked front grille, turn indicators on ORVMs (which are now electrically foldable) and a new body colour option - Sandstone Brown, though, these changes were introduced in October previous year, when the Terrano AMT was launched.

Nissan has today launched the 2017 Terrano facelift in India at a price of Rs. 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). We want to position Nissan as a high technology brand. The New Terrano keeps its bold road presence, in line with Nissan's global SUV heritage, while offering a more refined interior space and smart features. For starters, it has a new 4-pod headlight design for improved night time visibility. Nissan India Operations president Guillaume Sicard said the company is going strong in the direction it aimed.

Changes to the exterior are minimal with new wing mirrors and integrated turn signals which are now electrically retractable.

Mechanically, the 2017 model is identical to its predecessor. Now, Terrano flaunts a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated with satellite navigation.

The changes to the facelifted Terrano are more pronounced on the insides of the auto, with a new dual-tone colour scheme as standard, which will clad the dashboard, seats and door panels. A new steering wheel also makes its way in the 2017 Terrano and comes with audio/phone controls.

On the outside, the updated Terrano is hard to distinguish from its predecessor, since the changes are negligible. There is also a new driver seat armrest. Customers have a choice between a 1.6-litre petrol mill or a 1.5-litre diesel. The petrol engine produces 102 hp of power and 145 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Along with the other cosmetic and feature updates, the 2017 Terrano also gets anti-lock brakes (ABS) and dual airbags as standard fitment across all variants.
