Dead, 14 Injured In Shooting Incident At Cincinnati Nightclub

Police said numerous witnesses fled the scene after the shooting, but they are still searching for club-goers that saw what happened.

Gov. John Kasich tweeted he was saddened to learn about the shooting and offered prayers to the victims and their families. Police Chief Eliot Isaac believes there are multiple suspects after a fight broke out in the club. Another person walked into West Hospital with a non-gunshot injury and was treated and released, Bentley said. Victims have been rushed from the Cameo Club on the east side of the city to local hospitals and fire stations, police added. "And what we know at this point in the investigation several local men got into some type of a dispute inside the bar and it escalated into shots being fired from several individuals".

Black commends first responders who "handled a very hard situation extremely well".

The club owners oftentimes hire extra security on the weekends, with Friday night's being for those 18 and older, and Saturday's for the 21 and above crowd.

The club will remain closed until police complete the investigation and is voluntarily surrendering its liquor license, said Cincinnati City Manager Harry Black.

Police are now saying only one shooter was responsible for the deadly Cincinnati nightclub assault.

Police have also said there is only one reported shooter, however they are still investigating if any others were involved.

Police are hoping witnesses will come forward to help identify suspects.

At least 15 other people were injured at the Cameo nightclub after a gunman opened fire early Sunday morning.

Officials updated public officials on the shooting Monday afternoon during a meeting of Cincinnati's Law and Public Safety Committee.

Lt. Col. Paul Neudigate said there was no indication that the shooting was a terrorist act like the nightclub shooting in Florida last July.

"In this world we just need to be better people, I think", she said.

Several officers were working security at the club; some performed first aid and tried to revive the person who died, police said.

However, the police didn't say if anyone was in custody as of now.

It wasn't immediately clear what prompted the shooting.
