'Arrow': Katie Cassidy returning as series regular in season 6

Specifically, the CW has announced that Cassidy will be reprising Black Siren in the last two episodes of season five, and will be returning as a series regular in season six. After she was killed, Cassidy signed a deal with the CW to appear across the DC universe portfolio of shows in a guest capacity - then she reappeared as Black Siren, the villainous Earth 2 version of Black Canary, in "Arrow's" midseason premiere of Season 5. This year, our midseason finale reintroduced us to Laurel's doppelgänger, Black Siren. We were so taken by Katie's fearless interpretation of this character that we knew her story was not yet finished.

Having been mortally shanked by Damien Darhk (Neal McDonagh) during his prison escape a year ago, the show's second Black Canary-after sister Sara (Caity Lotz), now on Legends' White Canary and before new recruit Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy)-a darker Laurel first popped up on The Flash as Black Siren, the ultra-bitchy and therefore delicious Earth 2 meta-human, before turns on Legends and Arrow. If you have been following along, you know that things did not end will for Katie Cassidy's character in the show, but it seems that she will be making quite a comeback.

What remains unclear, however, is what effect this'll have on Dinah Drake, who is apparently taking up the Black Canary mantle. We've also seen her back on The Flash season 2.

The re-introduction of her Black Siren character made Oliver confront his feelings about Laurel's death, as well as forced him to see Black Siren in a new light.

It is unclear and probably will remain that way for some time how Black Siren will feature into season 6 as a series regular.

Once we have a sense for what the plot will be for Black Siren we'll keep you posted.

Ever since the fourth season of Arrow, fans have been mourning the loss Laurel Lance.
