According to figures quoted by the producers, the film jumped 30 per cent in a day to collect Rs 5.20 crore nett at the box-office on Saturday.
Anushka Sharma's latest release Phillauri might not have opened as expected at the box office, but the film has picked up surprisingly well over the weekend.
Interestingly, the movie has surpassed the first day collections of Anushka's maiden home production "NH10", which minted Rs 3.35 crore on its day of release. After a successful run with her films like PK, Sultan, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil at the box office, the actress's recent film Phillauri saw a good showing at the ticket window.
Made on a budget of Rs 21 crore, "Phillauri" has already recovered Rs 12 crore from satellite and music rights.
"Phillauri is a high concept film with a big heart and we are happy with the start that it has had on day one".
The movie, featuring Anushka Sharma, Suraj Sharma, and Diljit Dosanjh is set in Phillaur, and has been directed by Anshai Lal.

The film recorded very good occupancy in Delhi and Punjab whereas it was very low in rest of the country. Despite getting mixed to negative reviews, the film as performing on the levels of much bigger releases like Raees, Jolly LLB 2 and Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
