Google Real-Time Location Sharing Feature to Provide Live Location of the User

In a bid to improve your daily commute, Google Maps' latest Android beta is bringing a bunch of useful upgrades. Yes, you got it right, now you can save your parking location using Google Maps!

Don't panic too much though, Google's not going to let people see your location without your express permission first.

Google just announced a handy new feature headed to its Maps app that should make it easier to find your friends on your next night out. These contacts will be able to see the user's location on their own maps, whether they're using the Google Maps app or browsing Google Maps on desktop or the mobile web. If you're an Android user, you can add a widget to your menu that will contain your exact most-visited address, which you can then load with just one tap.

"You can share your real-time location with your Google contacts, or even share with friends and family by sending a link on your favourite messenger apps", the post read. It will also give you an option to select specific people with whom you want to share your coordinates. Users will be able to stop sharing their location at any time.

Google has been tinkering with this kind of crossover between location sharing and social networking for a while. Ride-hailing services have also become an important aspect of the app, and Google Maps will have partnerships with 14 companies in 70 countries by the end of the week, she said.

Yes, a few handy new features mean that you will be able to track your vehicle, and therefore never lose it... ergo, never overstay your parking time.

You can also start a timer which will let you know how long you have got left on your parking meter, helping you avoid a fine.
