Gionee A1 launched in India, pre-orders open from March 31

A1 will be launched in India tomorrow.

Gionee is offering a 2-year warranty along with a JBL headphone or a Swiss Military Bluetooth speaker to customers who pre-order the A1 phone. Here is how you can catch the announcement live.

To recall, Gionee A1 was first introduced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 last month, along with its elder sibling A1 Plus.

Storage wise, Gionee A1 includes 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. The device runs on Android 7.0 Marshmallow.

The Gionee A1 features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, which further extends to a pixel density of 401 PPI. The dual-SIM enabled smartphone also has a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel.

The main focus of the Gionee A1 however, is its front camera. On the front, it has a 16 megapixel camera for selfies with f/2.0 aperture.

In comparison to the Gionee A1, the A1 Plus phone has a 20MP front camera and dual rear camera of 13+5 MP set-up.

The Gionee A1 smartphone has specifications such as a 4010mAh battery, and the company is showcasing its new 18W "ultrafast charging" capability that charges batteries fully within 2 hours.

The Gionee A1's forepart camera is equipped with Gionee's customized selfie flash, with the company promising "enhanced facial complexions".

In the global market the Gionee A1 carries a price tag of Euro 349 which makes it a sub Rs 25,000 phone. Chances are that the smartphone will be priced around the same range in India as well, which means the device can be priced at around Rs 24,600.

It has a much larger 6 inch full HD display and runs on a MediaTek Helio P25 SoC with 4GB RAM. The handset measures 154.5 x 76.5 x 8.5 mm and weighs 182 g. The company has announced this phone in Gold, Black, and Gray color variants.
