Days after wining and dining Josh McCown, the Jets are gearing up for another visit with a free-agent quarterback.
Could Josh McCown's next destination be NY?
McCown is also reportedly drawing interest from the Cowboys, but he would be a backup there. Last year's starter Ryan Fitzpatrick remains an unsigned free agent, while Geno Smith opted to sign with the New York Giants. The 37-year-old signal caller had played for seven teams in his 14-year career, including the Browns the past two seasons. They only have two other quarterbacks under contract, Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg, and neither has shown anything to indicate that he's ready to be a starter.
The Jets' great quarterback search of 2017 continues. During that campaign, McCown threw for 1,829 yards with 13 TDs and 1 INT while posting a career-best 109.0 passer rating.
McCown, who turns 38 this summer, and his wife met with the Jets this past weekend.
Either way, it looks like NY has found its starter for next season.
The Jets' hole at quarterback is their most glaring, and the options are narrowing. He has never played a full 16-game season in his career.
