Celtics allow nightmarish late-game rally in 105-99 loss to 76ers

While veteran center Al Horford had a season-high 27 points on 11-for-16 shooting for Boston, he went scoreless (0-for-3) in the fourth. We're basketball players. We love it.

"Finally, we beat them", Saric said. "They truly get along, they play together". It's who they are. "I look at this year's team as a team that has far more capable bodies and players that can move forward next year as a cultural piece, as a corporate knowledge piece.". I didn't feel that much pain, but I'll be good.

In what should now come as no surprise, Dario Saric was right in the thick of another encouraging showing from the Sixers. Horford had averaged 13.6 points and 8.7 rebounds in 27 career games against the Sixers.

The Sixers are a tough nut to crack. Thomas engaged in the team's light pregame walk-through and Stevens noted, "I have no idea how that translates to playing in a stance or running up and down the floor. That's how we lost". Today, finally we won.

Amir Johnson doesn't often have great offensive outings, but he is a previous film room all-star because he does things that give his team a good chance of winning and that includes being a defensive stalwart.

"The mood of the gym changed [at that point]", Brown said, "and that really set the tone for a solid fourth period".

The way the quarter closed, however, was far different from how it started.

The Celtics entered Monday's tilt with a 1.5-game lead on the Wizards in the race for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Celtics: Marcus Smart scored eight points starting for Thomas. The sequence whittled Boston's lead to three points, 79-76. "So I don't see a problem with people watching", LeBron said.

The Spaniard posted nine points, three rebounds, and seven assists in 20 minutes.

"I've been part of six straight Finals, and every season the Finals is bigger and bigger and better and better, and more people are tuning in".

The Celtics are sitting in 2nd place with a record of 44-25. Only four times this season have they scored less.

Richaun Holmes played a major role in the win as well. "They were better than us the first quarter and a half, and better than us the last quarter and a half".

In a one possession game, Saric supplied an impressive lay-up with 59.6 seconds to go, bodying up on the seasoned Horford to muscle out important insurance points that widened the Sixers' gap to five, 100-95. His 3-pointer with 38.8 seconds left turned a three-point edge into a six-point advantage. Ricky Rubio had 10 points and 14 assists for the Wolves, who built a 13-point lead in the second quarter only to fade late as New Orleans closed on a 21-10 run.

The Sixers' bench contributions, meanwhile, were numerous. The one benefit you could say of being a man in Brett's position is that the pressure to win is slight to the point of being virtually non-existent.
