After being traded to the Green Bay Packers last October, Davis was eventually waived a few weeks later and claimed by the New York Jets before quickly being waived again. Selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Davis has a number of impressive kick returns on his resume and has performed well when called upon to carry the ball. A capable pair of hands in the passing game, the former Chiefs could be a good signing at the right price.
In four National Football League seasons, Davis has 805 rushing yards and 271 receiving yards.
Davis rushed for 805 yards (3.2 avg.) during his time with the Chiefs and caught 34 passes for 271 yards (8.0).
Davis was utilized in the kickoff return game for the Chiefs, and in the 2015 AFC Wild Card game he returned the opening kickoff 106 yards for a touchdown against the Houston Texans.
If Davis makes the Steelers roster, it will likely be as a return specialist as the team continues its search for Le'Veon Bell's primary backup.
The Steelers also announced the signing of Coty Sensabaugh to a two-year contract. Signed to a three-year $15 million contract by the Los Angeles Rams in 2016, Sensabaugh only last four games with the Rams before being released.
In 72 career regular-season games with 29 starts, Sensabuagh has totaled 179 tackles, 1.0 sack, two interceptions and 22 passes defensed. He was a fourth-round draft pick of the Tennessee Titans from Clemson in 2012.
