Recently, Dhoni survived a scare as the hotel in which he was staying along with his Jharkhand teammates ahead of the semi-final against Bengal, caught fire.
Delhi Police have registered a First Investigation Report (FIR) after MS Dhoni filed a complaint saying his three mobile phones were stolen.
A senior police officer said, "We approached the hotel staff and questioned some of them". "One of our firemen, Phool Singh, picked up the mobile phones from Dhoni's room and kept them safely so that he could hand them over to the police later". The police said a couple of persons have been detained in the case.
Dhoni was playing for Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare Trophy knockouts in Delhi till Sunday.
The complaint stated that he lost the devices during the evacuation process. The fire was controlled with the help of 30 fire tenders, after all 540 occupants of the hotel were rescued by fire officials and hotel staff. The recovery happened a day after Dhoni filed a complaint about his missing phones.
Dhoni along with his Jharkhand cricket team members had rushed out of the hotel in a hurry as smoke had entered their rooms. All of Dhoni's belongings were found intact, except for the three phones. A CCTV footage of the lobby is also being examined.
