"If Nintendo is able to produce and sell the amount claimed then this would be a complete turnaround from the Wii U and would position the Switch as a serious competitor to PS4 and put annual sales of the console on a similar trajectory to the Wii".
Fortunately, there are a couple of clues that have been left for gamers to still have hope that cloud saves will soon be coming to the Nintendo Switch.
The story begins with the user of Reddit Patsuann, who sent his console for Nintendo to fix.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Nintendo is not missing out on their current golden opportunity with their latest video game console. The latest console release from the company is the hybrid Nintendo Switch and after playing with the console, we wanted to take a trip down memory lane.
The correct account was still saved in the Nintendo Switch, but none of the saves. Interestingly, when launching The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the first time, a prompt saying that necessary data could not be found and must be downloaded appeared, followed by a small cloud icon popping up. However, while the Nintendo Switch that was sent back was a new one, it does not change the fact that the save data was apparently downloaded to be returned into the device.
The upcoming game is expected to reach a wider audience compared to the Wii U version because players can get their "Mario Kart" fix anytime and anywhere with the Nintendo Switch, and can also opt to play it in high resolution in the comforts of their own home. This came as something of a surprise when it was revealed, but as we learned more about the console itself, it started to make more sense.
