WWE NXT Results (3/15/17): Bobby Roode vs Kassius Ohno Was Glorious

That may be an odd way to start off a Hit, but the match was very much secondary to the events that occurred after it. Paul Ellering still hasn't shined on the microphone, but referring to his history as a tag team manager pioneer was smart. Instead of competing in the match, they were attacked from behind by The Authors of Pain during their entrance.

Now that we're on the cusp of another WrestleMania there are many who would love to see Shinsuke Nakamura mix it up on the main roster sooner than later. So, sending him out in front of a rowdy crowd who will cheer just about anything will give him plenty of momentum, rather than trying to piece together a below-par main roster career that some believe he may end up having. She says that this is her division so they should name this the Asuka Title.

NXT Champion Bobby Roode defended his title against the highly acclaimed Kassius Ohno in a high-quality showdown.

Shinsuke Nakamura will get a crack at becoming the first-ever three time NXT Champion at NXT Takeover: Orlando, as he'll face champion Bobby Roode. She throws her across the ring by the hair.

Estrella's military training isn't enough to take on the unpredictability of Cross, who hits the former Sergeant with five swinging fisherman neckbreakers.

In the span of two months, we've witnessed NXT shift in tone along with the change in its top champion. Eric Young made Dillinger watch as he finished off Jose and then Tye then got picked apart as Eric Young yelled like a wild banshee. Even if Ohno was in great shape (he's not), him defeating the glorious one would be nearly as big of a surprise than Undertaker losing to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30. Not a good look for Lun, but it's a good way to bring Oney Lorcan into a feud with Almas.

After the match, Tye Dillinger and No Way Jose attack Sanity at ringside. Roode goes for a takedown, but Ohno counters into a back slide.

Roode ducks a rolling elbow attempt, and puts Kassius Ohno away with the Glorious DDT to retain the NXT Championship and to take it to TakeOver: Orlando. Uriel hits the ropes and runs right into a clothesline from Rezar.
