Mourinho says Manchester United very happy with Pogba

A number of pundits questioned the £89 million midfielder's performance following their FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Chelsea on Monday, with many contrasting his showing with Chelsea counterpart and France team-mate N'Golo Kante who continues to garner rave reviews.

"Michael Oliver is a referee with fantastic potential but in four matches he has given three penalties and a red card [against United]".

Comprised of three ex-referees that do not confer or consult, they come back one-by-one with their decision with a unanimous view required for action to be taken.

Manchester United was charged on Tuesday by the Football Association (FA) with failing to control its players during the explosive FA Cup quarterfinal with Chelsea, English football's ruling body said.

"But I don't want to go in that direction".

"You're not special anymore", sang Chelsea fans, between expletive-filled chants directed at the self-styled "Special One" who they branded "Judas". Cracks in the relationship were already there when Mourinho's Red Devils were humiliated 4-0 at Stamford Bridge in their Premier League meeting in October.

Much was made of United's lack of striking options ahead of the game but Mourinho's somewhat depleted side started in confident fashion and Henrikh Mkhitaryan fired just wide in the 13th minute following a strong run by Rashford.

"They showed they are able to beat us, but also we showed we are able to beat them. I defend my club", the Portuguese said after the game.

"I just want to say that I'm really proud of my payers, proud of the Manchester United fans", he told the BBC.

"But, again, I cannot change that but I can try to interfere in Thursday's match".

Although Conte and Mourinho didn't shake hands at full-time, the Italian insisted he had done nothing wrong in their touchline clash.

It left United without a victory at Chelsea since 2012 and the Europa League offering Jose Mourinho the only prospect of silverware in his first season in charge. "For this moment, "Judas" is No. 1". Old Trafford has certainly been a fortress for much of this season, as it seems the Mourinho and the likes of Pogba and Ibrahimovic are slowly restoring the Manchester club to the verges of Champions League football, which is very much a possibility for them this season.
