At least three terrorists were killed and a police man was injured in an ongoing operation between security forces and terrorists in Kupwara's Kalaroos area of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
During the initial gunfight, a policeman was injured, the official said, adding the injured cop has been taken to a hospital for treatment.
However, there are mixed reports on the cause of her death.While one report said that Tanveeza died of a massive cardiac arrest, another talked about her being hit by a "stray bullet".
"Three foreign militants have been killed and a civilian was killed by a stray bullet near encounter site who is identified as Kaneeza, 6, D/O Khushi Chaki,"police official from Kupwara police station confirmed".
With the killing of the three terrorists, the operation has come to an end.
Security forces seized three AK-47 rifles from the possession of the slain militants.
It was reported later that a 12-year-old girl had also been killed in the encounter.
On March 9, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was killed by the security forces after an encounter broke in Pulwama district.
Furthermore, officials claimed that the cordon-and-search operation was launched in the area following a tip off about the presence of militants.
The encounter is now underway and all exit routed from the area have been sealed.
