New 'American Gods' Trailer is All About Mr. Wednesday

Watch and see if you think the show is worth worshipping.

Starz has unveiled a new trailer for American Gods that's full of gorgeous fantasy imagery and gothic drama.

Our first look at the show a year ago introduced Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle), who is recruited by Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane) to help in a coming war between the gods of the old world and those of the new. The old gods of ancient myth and the new gods of modern America (representing media, the internet, finance, and so on) are heading for a clash, with Shadow caught in the middle. We get glimpses of the undead, the undying, and the unforgivable. He tags along as Wednesday's muscle, encountering other gods in dire straits like Anansi (Orlando Jones), Czernobog (Peter Stormare), and Easter (Kristin Chenoweth) during Wednesday's attempt to drum up an army. World. "And we're losing".

American Gods is about ex-con Shadow and his deeply odd road trip with a grifter named Mr. Wednesday. David Slade is directing the pilot and additional episodes.

The series was adapted from fellow EP Gaiman's 2001 novel, with Fuller and Green serving as the show's writers and showrunners. FMNA's Craig Cegielski and Stefanie Berk are executive producers along with Fuller, Green, Slade, Adam Kane andGaiman.

Here it is, folks, the brand-new trailer for Starz and Neil Gaiman's highly-anticipated tale of gods and monsters, AMERICAN GODS- premiering on Sunday, April 30 at 9PM ET/PT. SVPs Original Programming Marta Fernandez and Ken Segna are the Starz executives in charge.
