But now the 26 year old has had to seek legal action after stolen pictures of her were leaked online.
According to people on Reddit and Twitter, "nude" photos of the Beauty & The Beast star have allegedly surfaced on the "dark web" - which apparently is only accessible through a special software and is known to contain lots of awful content. "They are not nude photographs", her publicist told the BBC.
Her lawyers demanded the photos be taken down immediately and permanently and threatened further legal action if not.
Alongside Watson, who was included in the previous leak three years ago, "Mean Girls" actor Amanda Seyfried is allegedly also implicated in the fresh batch.
She later admitted: 'I knew it was a hoax, I knew the pictures didn't exist, but I think a lot of people that were close to me knew gender equality was an issue but didn't think it was that urgent, that it was a thing of the past.
Nude photos purported to belong to Emma Watson were leaked alongside the the private clothe fitting pictures, but her team maintain they are not hers.
Watson recently made headlines after appearing in a partially-topless photo shoot for Vanity Fair, leading to criticism and accusations of hypocrisy from Beyonce fans.
Watson's rep assured reporters that the stolen images are not nude photos, but instead show Watson trying on clothes.
The photos, which were taken of Watson during a fitting for a swimsuit, were leaked after her computer was reportedly hacked.
The star sent a cease and desist letter after images showing her wearing a sheer top were made public, United States website TMZ reported.
It's uncertain exactly how the hacker managed to infiltrate the computer containing the images of Watson, but the images are now reportedly being passed around the Dark Web, making it hard for authorities to track.
Last month, a man in the U.S. was jailed for nine months for hacking into the online accounts of celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence, and stealing private information, including nude videos and photos.
