Tyra Banks to replace Nick Cannon as America's Got Talent host

That news came Sunday night.

According to E! News, veteran supermodel and former host of America's Next Top Model will take Nick Cannon's place as host for the upcoming twelfth season of America's Got Talent.

"Since I was a little girl, I've been obsessed with grandiose acts and performers who make the seemingly impossible possible", said Banks. "I've got love for the network, I've got love for the production, and I feel like I'm growing as an artist, and as a human being, to bigger and better things". I look forward to connecting with the dreamers, having fun and giving hugs and words of encouragement when needed.

"America's Got Talent" judge Howie Mandel expressed his excitement over the announcement of Banks as the new host.

"Tyra is the complete package: Out-of-this-world talented, funny, brilliant and all heart", said NBC's head of alternative Paul Telegdy.

America's Next Top Model was cancelled but then brought back with a new host instead of Banks, leaving her free for a new reality show. She's our new host. "Her vivacious spirit will infuse "AGT" in a big way". Banks replaces Nick Cannon, who announced his resignation from the show in a Facebook post. "My soul won't allow me to be in business with corporations that attempt to frown on freedom of speech, censor artists, and question cultural choices", Cannon wrote. Banks has won two Emmy Awards for The Tyra Show and has been on Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World list, twice. If that weren't enough, Tyra also welcomed her first child, her son York Banks Asla in 2016 via gestational surrogate.

Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Mel B will return as judges during the 12 season in returning this year.
