FGCU men's hoops to play FSU in NCAA Tournament

It'll be an all-Sunshine State matchup for FGCU.

The Florida Gators will be playing at Orlando's Amway Center on Thursday.

For the first time in the history of the NCAA tournament, Miami, Florida and Florida State all qualified for the field.

FGCU (26-7, 12-2) reeled of four straight victories to end the regular season and then won three more to take the Atlantic Sun Conference crown.

Times of the matchups have yet to be announced.

Sunday, the 'Noles saw their tournament drought go out the door when they were selected as one of the teams for the 2017 NCAA Tournament.

Dunk City will invade Orlando when the 14th-seeded Eagles of Florida Gulf Coast take on the 3rd-seeded Florida State Seminoles.

Four Florida teams begin their quest to reach the Final Four in Glendale, Ariz., this week - and three of those teams will be playing in Orlando.

Bacon, who leads the Seminoles in scoring (career-high 16.8 ppg) and 3-point shots made (career-high 57 3FG made), was named to the All-ACC Second Team. Rathan-Mayes was named to the All-ACC Defensive team and finished fifth in the voting for the ACC Defensive Player of the year.
