March 8 (ANI): At least eight people were injured after a blast took place near Kasturi Bridge Manipur's Imphal Bazar.
Two of the victims are in critical condition, media reports said.
A top official of Manipur police said that, first IED was exploded at around 3-15 pm near Aishi village in the hill district.
The police is on the look-out for the culprits as a case has been registered with the City Police Station. He is now admitted at the Army Hospital in Leimakhong here.
The blasts occurred a couple of hours after chief secretary Oinam Nabakishore Singh convened a high-level meeting in Imphal to review security for the polls.
The police said security personnel retaliated after both the incidents, but the unidentified militants escaped in the high mountains.
A civilian, who was engaged with election duty was injured in the blast. Election is being held in 22 seats in the final and second phase of the state Assembly polls.
Among them, 45,642 are new voters and they will cast their votes in 1,151 polling stations.
