Fifteen minutes after losing to Iowa State on Thursday, Oklahoma State coach Brad Underwood said: "I'm ecstatic to get away from Big 12 teams". I'm going to make my own award for him at the end of the season. He would have been a great representative for that award and what it's about, for what he's done for this program on and off the floor.
On the season, Iowa State basketball is averaging 80.4 points, 35.0 rebounds and 15.9 assists per game.
Morris was brilliant in opening pursuit of his third Big 12 tournament title, scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. But the Cowboys often were quick to foul and Morris wound up short of his second career triple-double. He says the lack of recognition motivated him.

Pretty effective day at the office". He stumped for Kansas State and TCU after OSU's shootaround Wednesday. The Cyclones got long-range buckets from six different players. Iowa State lost in the first round past year after winning back-to-back tournament titles in 2014 and 2015.
Percentages: FG.536, FT.741. Three-Point Goals: 12-24, .500 (Thomas 3-6, Mitrou-Long 3-8, Jackson 2-3, Morris 2-4, Weiler-Babb 1-1, Burton 1-2).
OSU, now 20-12, thrives behind its fast-paced offense, fueled by point guard Jawun Evans, who scored a game-high 29 points Friday. Backcourt mate Jeffrey Carroll added 21 points and Phil Forte had 12, but not even that offensive output was enough to keep pace with the Cyclones. "I got shot by my nerve, so I couldn't feel the ball".
"Get away from (the Big 12), play somebody different, that's not the same caliber as the teams we play in our conference", Evans said. "There's nothing the coaches can do at this point".
The Iowa State Cyclones (20-10) are coming from an 87-86 loss to West Virginia in which Nazareth Mitrou-Long scored 22 points in 6-for-13 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
Morris led Iowa State with 11 points in the first half. The Cyclones made 64 percent of their second-half shot attempts (16-25). All three were voted First Team All-Big 12, so Evans belongs in the same conversation. They also can claim the first road victory at Kansas in more than three seasons. The Cowboys now are averaging 85.5, which would beat the previous mark of 83.5 in 1988-89.
