Charles Barkley Calls Out Lavar Ball For "Stupidity"

The Golden State Warriors point guard was asked at practice Wednesday about LaVar's recent comments that his son, Lonzo, is already better than the two-time NBA MVP, and Curry quickly shut down the whole conversation. Guess what, you're talking, too.

Many of you have probably heard of the UCLA freshman star Lonzo Ball.

Barkley previously told SN's Sean Deveney of his doubts about LaVar Ball's claims that his son would be better than Stephen Curry. "So, everybody has an opinion how things were".

It may be stupidity, but for National Basketball Association executives, especially those who would be eager to draft Ball, there is lingering consternation around dealing with Lavar Ball when you draft Lonzo Ball.

"It doesn't help, all this stuff with his father", the GM said. I don't care about that I put the goals up high. I know the work he's put in. I know what my boy's about. "It's not a one-on-one sport, but if it is one-on-one, I'm going to take the taller, faster, stronger guy".

Those numbers are certainly worthy of consideration as a top draft pick, but it's LaVar who may get in his son's way of making that happen.

But Lonzo Ball has been outstanding all season, and that will override any silliness spouted by his father. It could even be a slight help - if Lonzo excels despite the added scrutiny that comes with Lavar's comments, it shows that he can handle pressure.
