Pac-12 Championship Game: Game 9 victor vs.
There has been a lot of talk throughout the UCLA community about whether or not T.J.
He did, however, make sure to point out that he had more success in the tournaments that followed those.
Unfortunately, that's not true.
The Beavers couldn't get much going from there, and Cal made just enough free throws in the closing moments to send Oregon State home.
Or does one of the West's best get moved into the South? The Bears have a lot to prove to have any chance of making it to the NCAA Tournament.
And while in many years, it might be sufficient for the Bruins to simply win a game or two in Las Vegas to shore up a top seed, that really isn't the case this year. Experience pays off in March, and with most of the major contributors on the team coming off an Elite Eight appearance a year ago, the Ducks should be in good position to make another deep tournament run. More to the point, you're not going to see more than one Pac-12 team in the top four seeds in the West. Arizona has had a 15-game winning streak.
The Sun Devils iced the game with free throws, advancing to play No. 1 seeded Oregon Thursday at noon, a team ASU played well in its lone regular season matchup. Cal shot 39.7 percent (23 for 58) from the floor, the second-lowest mark against OSU since the start of Pac-12 play.
Gligorije Rakocevic made his third 3-pointer of the game off a Manuel assist.
Humphrey tied the game on 15-foot jumper with 3.3 seconds remaining in regulation. It will also be effectively on the road, in one of either Kansas City, Memphis, or NY.
This Saturday, the Bears will head back on the road as they travel to Los Angeles for a doubleheader against UCLA and USC looking to overcome frustrations of the recent showdowns with UBC. None of that is easy.
And it's easier to extrapolate with Arizona than OR or UCLA because of the Trier bump, because of his absence-and-return.
If UCLA gets to the final but loses to OR, things could get interesting. The victor will have a resume worthy of No. 1 seed consideration. A great local product that got away...
While UCLA and OR have been grabbing numerous headlines out of the Pac-12 this season, Arizona was right up there with them in the standings at 27-4 SU and 15-15-1 ATS, and split its season series against both teams. "He does give us quite a bit". They would then need an additional two victories to secure the conference's automatic bid, wins that would likely have to come against two of the top four teams in a top-loaded league.
Hurley and Evans led the Buffalo Bulls to a MAC Tournament title just weeks before they left for Tempe in 2015, with Evans scoring a team-high 18 points in the final against Central Michigan.
Rabb was a non-factor in the first half, but took the ball to the basket on his first touch of the second and played more aggressively the rest of the way.
The two players who have been at the top of most 2017 National Basketball Association mock drafts - UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball and Washington point guard Markelle Fultz - are part of the tournament field.
