Banksy builds hotel next to Israel's West Bank security barrier

Massive Attack have revealed they will be soundtracking the next exhibition from mysterious stencil king Banksy.

If so, according to the elusive street artist Banksy, you should stay in his latest sardonic creation: an art-filled guest house and political protest vessel mere steps from a section of Israel's West Bank security barrier. The bar features a mechanical baby grand piano that will play automated recitals each night by artists including 3D of Massive Attack, Nine Inch Nails founder Trent Reznor, and film composer Hans Zimmer. Located in Bethlehem, it's a fully-functioning hotel featuring a museum, gallery, and a "colonial outpost"-themed player piano bar serving food and drink".

But hey, we're not complaining over here, the opening of the hotel has brought us some awesome innovation from the guerilla artist. Upcoming sets from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, Hans Zimmer and Flea have also been confirmed.

"Guests can peruse a collection of Banksy artworks that include vandalised oil paintings and statues choking on tear gas fumes", reads the hotel's website. He has previously created art in the Palestinian territories, including along the Wall itself. Reservations will begin March 11 at 9 a.m. GMT where rooms will begin at $30 a night.

As for whether the whole thing is a joke, a FAQ page says it is not, but rather a "genuine art hotel with fully functioning ensuite facilities and limited auto parking". The intention of the hotel is to highlight the story of the wall from both sides.

Below, watch a video presenting the hotel as posted to Banksy's Instagram. We offer an especially warm welcome to young Israelis.

Those interested in booking should not hesitate, and make their reservations now, as the hotel only intends to be open for one full year.

Following on from Banksy's Dismaland dystopian theme, he's back with a new project.
