THE CW's RIVERDALE Renewed For Second Season

The show has officially been given an early renewal for Season 2, TooFab has learned. Although some reviews have called the show confusing, they also find the series addictive as it gives an entirely different look at the high school mythos and the eeriness of small town living.

While it has not been a strong live+same-day ratings performer, "Riverdale" has garnered ample critical acclaim and considerable fan enthusiasm.

The new series is based on the characters from the pages of Archie comics. Television and CBS Television Studios.

Twenty-one minutes. That's all it takes for Riverdale, The CW's oh-so stylish blend of post-Gossip Girl teen drama and Twin Peaks-inspired mystery, to have Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) begin making out.

Riverdalejoins previously renewed CW favoritesArrow, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Flash, Jane the Virgin, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, andSupernaturalwhich will all return for the network's 2017-18 season.

With the final seasons of The Vampire Diaries and Reign now airing, that only leaves a handful of decisions left for the CW. The net has yet to make a call on "The 100"; "The Originals" and "iZombie" premiere in the coming weeks. However, at the same time the numbers are pretty solid when combined with The CW's deal with Netflix to air the entire season just over a week after the season comes to an end.
