Amid speculation that Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac have been separated since last summer, the 32-year-old actress has officially filed for divorce from her husband of two years.
The Avengers star's attorney Judith Poller served the divorce filings to Dauriac's lawyer, Harold Mayerson, on Tuesday.
"He plans to petition the court to allow him and his daughter to move to France", Mayerson says. "It will be an interesting process".
Mr Dauriac was taken aback by the request because the father has been the "primary parent" while Johansson has been involved with her career, his lawyer said.
The exes then agreed on another arrangement that gave Johansson three days a week with her daughter and Dauriac two.
Johansson is seeking joint custody of Rose, but also wants the child to live with her.
Scarlett and Romain started dating in 2012, marrying two years later in Montana on October 1, 2014, shortly after welcoming Rose.
Johansson temporarily moved to the island past year to film her latest sci-fi flick "Ghost in the Shell".
"The kid was bouncing back and forth", the source said.
However, the pair set tongues wagging her romance was on the rocks in 2016, and the "Captain America: Civil War" star - who was previoiusly married to Ryan Reynolds - confirmed she and Romain had separated in the Summer of past year. She was previously married to actor Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011.
