Forces kill 10 more terrorists in Swabi

Captain Junaid and Sepoy Amjad were killed in Sawabi district, Dawn online cited an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement as saying.

The compound has been cordoned off while an exchange of fire continues, the ISPR said.

Armies Captain, including two soldiers were killed in the operation.

At least 10 militants were killed whereas two of the suspects managed to escape.

In a similar operation yesterday in Swabi, two Pakistan Army soldiers embraced martyrdom and five terrorists were killed during the shootout.

This year after the resurfacing of a new wave of terrorism across Pakistan, the Pakistan army has launched a countrywide operation Rad-ul-Fasad on February 22.

Meanwhile, Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa said that the sacrifices of our security personnel will not go in vain.

Pakistan blames "Afghanistan-based" militants for carrying out attacks on civilians and security forces.

In a message sent to the media, the TTP spokesman Mohammad Khorasani said their organisation was involved in the clashes with security forces in Malikabad in Swabi. He appreciated the high morale of troops and lauded their bravery and courage in the line of duty. The PM prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the martyrs' families. The prime minister paid rich tribute to the fearless soldiers who boldly fought the terrorists and embraced martyrdom in the line of duty. In the exchange of fire, five terrorists were also killed. The security forces also destroyed the hideouts of terrorists during the search operation.
