The forecast for the UFC. Tyron Woodley - Stephen Thompson

Woodley recovered from a slow start to claim a majority decision over Stephen Thompson Saturday night in the main event of UFC 209. He failed to do so in his bout with Woodley at UFC 205, which led to moments of Woodley feeling comfortable with his back to the fence.

As far as his plans for the future, Thompson is going to spend some much needed time at home in SC to put the loss behind him before booking his next fight in the Octagon. On Thursday during an appearance on ESPN's "SportsCenter", Thompson was left tongue-tied against Woodley, asking him at one point, "Why you gotta be so mean?" What he can focus on however is utilizing his wrestling more often this time around as he was effective with it in the first round of their previous fight. Ferguson had been preparing for months to face one of the most dominant wrestlers in MMA and was suddenly going to be thrust into a fight with a risky striker like Johnson? Mostly though it's control on the mat that I feel will get "T-Wood" a decision victory on the night. White agrees with them as he believes Woodley did nothing to merit retaining his title. "Tyron is a great fighter, a deserving champion, and a worthy opponent".

The rematch was supposed to give us so much more. It fell apart the day before the event, with Nurmagomedov having to be rushed to the hospital after a bad weight cut. "Going in, you say, 'I want to be aggressive, but when you're out there vs. Tyron, he's so powerful".

As a result the pair squares off for the second time. If it's styles that make fights, then we need to realize the first fight was an anomaly. "If there are issues that I think are unfair, I'm going to speak out on them".

Rashad Evans to win by decision. "But yeah man, if they are willing to get me out there again, I'm ready".

An interim lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov vs.

But both instead made it seem to the masses as if they were playing it safe, protecting the belt in Woodley's case and too reluctant to press the action in that of Thompson, who might have thought he was leading on the scorecards.

Vannata is the more creative of the two, has proven himself against tougher opposition and is also the better offensive grappler of the two, so I'd favor him to come out on top here in a competitive battle.

Lando Vannata doing insane kicks. Previously scheduled for the early prelims, these two strawweights probably don't belong on pay-per-view yet, but it's nice to see a little estrogen in what otherwise would be a total sausagefest. In the last round we all know I went out there for the kill.

It will likely be the last fight of 42-year-old heavyweight Hunt's UFC career after a dispute with the company.
