UP Govt. indulging in 'drama' with non-bailable warrant against Prajapati: BJP

Prajapati is also accused of patronising the illegal mining mafia when he was the mining minister and a probe has been ordered by the Allahabad High Court in this matter. According to a PTI report, Ram Naik in his letter said, "A non-bailable warrant has been issued against Prajapati after an FIR was registered against him in rape case". He had also urged the minister to surrender.

March 5 (ANI): Union Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Kalraj Mishra on Sunday assured that the absconding Samajwadi Party leader Gayatri Prajapati, who has been booked on charges of rape, would be arrested once the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government comes to power in Uttar Pradesh.

Today's action came a day after airports across the country were alerted about the possibility of Prajapati trying to flee the country. Prime Minister Modi targeted the SP-Congress alliance during an election meeting in Jaunpur and said, "In this country, when we do something good, we chant the Gayatri Mantra".

Meanwhile, today BJP UP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya took a jibe at CM Akhilesh and said that if he can not get his "favourite" minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati arrested in the rape case, he should at least sack him.

Chaudhary said to ensure that Pajapati is arrested soon, the Special Task Force of UP police has been roped in especially to prevent him from crossing the country's borders.

"A daughter is seeking justice and the chief minister is shielding the gunehgaar (guilty)".

A first-time MLA from Amethi, Prajapati has been accused of rape by a woman from Bundelkhand who has alleged that he, along with the six associates, had raped her at Prajapati's official residence in Lucknow in 2014.

The FIR was filed recently following a directive of the Supreme Court after the alleged victim approached it.

Union Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Kalraj Mishra also assured that Prajapati will be arrested once the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government comes to power in Uttar Pradesh.
