Octavia Spencer 'prayed' for accountant in Oscars mix-up

Academy Award victor Octavia Spencer made her debut as host of Saturday Night Live last night.

"It was so wonderful to play a NASA mathematician like I do in Hidden Figures".

"I'm from a different movie", Spencer said before handing a giddy Sessions a chocolate pie, a reference to a disgustingly defiant act by her "Help" character. The solution, she said, was to produce a three-way mashup of the best picture nominees with prominent African-American roles: "Hidden Fences Light", which could be billed as "the story of three black women who send an introspective gay guy to build a fence on the moon", Spencer said.

From the Kellyanne Conway photo scandal to the craziness of the Oscars Best Picture winning moment, one can only imagine what's in store for us as we finally return to Studio 8H this weekend! "That 's a lot for America".

Meanwhile, the children's book author gushed over her hosting duties, saying, 'It is a dream come true to be here.

Michael Keaton, who presented the award for Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globes, incorrectly referred to Hidden Figures as Hidden Fences, as he confused it confusing it with the drama Fences.

She also talked about how Black actors have historically played nurses in films, recalling that she herself has played a nurse 16 times.

Recently, Spencer has received acclaim for her work in the films Get on Up, Black or White, Smashed, Snowpiercer, The Divergent Series: Insurgent, and Zootopia.

Spencer, 46, kicked off her three-minute monologue by quipping that she's been playing nurses onscreen for so long that "when I played a maid [in 2011's The Help], they gave me an Oscar".
