Karan Johar becomes proud father to twins, names them Roohi and Yash

Karan Johar now knows what it feels like to be proud father.

Karan Johar has all the reason to be on cloud nine these days, especially on the personal front. Born at Masrani Hospital in Andheri (West), the infants have not been named yet, according to the BMC.

Karan Johar has not yet confirmed the news.

There is also no mention of the mother's name in the birth registration details, TOI reported. At the launch of the book he had said,"I would like to be a parent". In his recently released autobiography, 'An Unsuitable Boy, ' Johar had expressed a desire to adopt a child or have a surrogate child as his old-age insurance policy.

"This was an emotional yet a well thought out decision which I have taken after considering all the responsibilities and duties that come with being a parent", Karan Johar said.

While Johar is yet to make a statement, the Mirror report was confirmed by a senior official from the BMC, the body responsible for issuing birth certificates. Actor Tusshar Kapoor had welcomed son Laksshya in June previous year. I don't know how it's going to happen but I do feel the need because I have plenty of love to offer and I'd like to take it forward. It bans commercial surrogacy wherein no payment can be given to or accepted by the surrogate. The bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha but the Rajya Sabha Chairman referred it to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on health and asking it to submit report within three months.

Shah Rukh Khan too opted for surrogacy for his third child, AbRam while Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao had their son, Azad Rao Khan, through the same procedure.

Under this bill, homosexuals, single parents, and live-in couples are also not entitled for surrogacy. However, the public health department has acknowledged the registry of the births.
