Jayson Tatum is the Key Against Heels — Duke Blue Devils

They're just 5-5 against the spread over their last 10 games but are 16-13 against the number on the season and are 10-4 ATS at home.

It's a different type of pressure this season, one Breschi and the Tar Heels find more acceptable.

With a bye of the first and second rounds, #3 Duke women's basketball opened up play in the ACC Tournament on Friday against #6 Syracuse at the HTC Center in Conway, S.C. North Carolina has been the most consistent of the two programs throughout the year, and will conclude the season with at least a share of the regular season ACC title no matter tonight's outcome. The Blue Devils bounced back from thier loss against Miami on February 25 as they beat Florida State 75-70 in their last game. The Tar Heels have claimed 134 victories to Duke's 109. How can a game between the 1-16 Beavers, a squad that lost by 42 points in the two team's first meeting, have such intregue?

The Tar Heels went 7-for-19 with runners on base while the Pirates were just 1-for-14 in the situation. While they are still risky players, of course, they aren't the juggernaut that Duke looked like they might be turning into in the mid-late weeks of February. But Kennard and Jackson are close behind with almost identical numbers. And if they do, she'll join the thousands of other Tar Heels rushing Franklin Street after the game.

Duke still struggles defensively - particularly against drives off the bounce - so the opportunity is there for Carolina to get back to being the team they were last week.

"It's the post-season, they aren't the same team they were a week ago", Brown said. Jayson Tatum came next with 15 points, 9 rebounds and a team-high 4 assists in addition to a pair of steals and a pair of blocks, while Amile Jefferson added 14 points on a ideal 6 of 6 from the field with 11 rebounds and 4 blocks for the double-double. North Carolina will need more consistent play from guys like Isaiah Hicks and even Joel Berry, but I believe the Heels pull it out on Senior Night.

North Carolina is 46-2 since last season when scoring 80 points with the losses by a combined five points. Pitt sophomore forward Kauai Bradley got the Panthers on the board with a 3-pointer, the first of her 12 points in the first quarter. In 2017, teams are chasing North Carolina. "At North Carolina, our goal is always to win a national championship but it took us 23 years to get in position, and 25 years to get it done on the field".
