'It was Givenchy couture': Adele hits back at Princess Fiona Grammys comparison

Speaking at her latest gig in Perth, Australia, Adele revealed that she worked out TWICE a day to make sure she would look good in that dress.

Adele took home all the awards at last month's Grammy awards. I don't f***ing care. "It was Givenchy couture!"

The thing with Adele is, if her fans treat her right, she treats them right back, like DJ Feminem, whose drag act is to impersonate the singer.

The dress had attracted some negative comments on social media, with some likening it to the dress worn by Princess Fiona in the Shrek films.

Although of course in typical Adele style she had the last laugh.

Adele has responded to trolls who compared her in her Grammys outfit to Princess Fiona from Shrek.

The Sun also quoted the 28-year-old as saying: "Obviously I'm a large lady and I like eating food very much, but I was working out twice a day to fit into that Givenchy dress because it was quite tight". Adele told the 65,000-strong crowd.

Adele is now on the third leg of her Adele Live tour, which takes in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Auckland, New Zealand.

The star had one of the biggest nights of her career at the awards show, beating Beyoncé to win FIVE awards including the Album of the Year for 25.

Walking across the stage, Adele detailed how she had worked hard to fit into the lavish gown.

Adele's performance at the Grammys was notable for the musical tribute she paid to George Michael.
