Louis Tomlinson arrested for attacking a photographer

One of the photogs reportedly fell and has claimed that he was injured during the dustup.

According to TMZ, the incident happened in Los Angeles on Friday night.

"The persistent and increasing levels of paparazzi and media intrusions into Freddie's life of late are not only posing potential security issues but are also crucially invading the privacy to which Freddie is undoubtedly entitled as a child", he wrote.

"The paparazzi provoked and caused the altercation that occurred with Louis at the airport this morning", his lawyer Martin Singer said in a statement to the Daily News. Tomlinson was arrested on misdemeanor battery charges and booked at a nearby LAPD station at 12:38 a.m. PT on Saturday and released almost an hour later at 1:32 a.m. PT.

The 25-year-old singer felt that a member of the paparazzi was getting too close to Louis and his girlfriend Eleanor Calder.

The singer, who joined One Direction in 2010, had been returning to Los Angeles after going on holiday with his female companion in Las Vegas, the Daily Mail reported.

No word yet on any other pending charges for anyone, but apparently Tomlinson had to post a $20,000 bail fee to get out of jail after just a few hours. Eleanor is alleged to have argued with nearby witnesses who were filming the incident, which culminated in Louis being placed under citizen's arrest by the photographer.

He has a scheduled March 29 court date in Dept. W90 of the LAX Superior Court, 11701 S. La Cienega Blvd., according to sheriff's records.
