Those users who prefer to stick to the OxygenOS over the HydrogenOS should not update their phones to the Android 7.1.1 beta.
It is peculiar that the company is rolling out Android Nougat OS updates over HydrogenOS rather than the more popular OxygenOS, which is apparently preferred even by Chinese users.
Like the team in China, the global versions of both OnePlus 3 and 3T will be updated with the beta version of Android 7.1 Nougat, but this step should mean that the stable version isn't so far away from rolling out. The update should be already available for your OnePlus 3 / OnePlus 3T smartphone, if it's not, it will be soon enough, you can always go to settings and manually check for its availability. This update is now seeding to those of you who are using OxygenOS beta, you will receive this update over-the-air (OTA), though you can also manually flash it, if that's something you want to do, but do remember you'll lose all your data if you do that.
In addition to bringing the latest version of the Android OS to the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T Beta users in China, the update is also bringing forward the March Android Security patch to these smartphones! Besides this, the update includes support for notes syncing and an option to set snaps captured using the phone's camera as wallpapers. For example, there's a new Shot on OnePlus wallpaper option, which will allow you to change wallpapers automatically on a daily basis. According to OnePlus, there are a couple of known issues, but at least one of them can be fixed. Some new features were added to the integrated picture editor as well. Now, Android 7.1.1 Nougat in itself is just a minor update containing some bug fixes, the new Open Beta 12 comes with some general fixes and few gallery improvements which are as follows.
